Explosion at a Christian Rally


Six people were killed and over 100 injured in an explosion at a packed church rally in Uhuru park on June 13, 2010.

Christian leaders called the prayer meeting to pray for the country and took opportunity to push for the rejection of a new proposed constitution that is to go to the referendum this August 4, 2010.

The police are investing the nature of explosion and are determined to arrest the culprits.

"It is very, very much too early to say who is responsible," said Eric Kiraithe, spokesman for the Kenya Police.

"Our investigations have begun, and in due course the culprits will be found."

Church leaders are opposed to the draft because they argue it sanctionst abortion and makes provision for Kadhis Courts.
